11:00 AM-12:00 PM
The QBI Seminar Series is presenting Andy Wilson, a professor of organic chemistry at The University of Leeds in England. His group's latest research focuses on developing enabling methods for the design of protein-protein interactions (PPI), which mediate all cellular signaling processes, play a central role in disease and represent the majority of bimolecular interactions. Developing chemical probes to interrogate cell-signaling pathways represents a significant challenge of immense biochemical and medical importance. However, methods to target intracellular (PPIs) using small molecules are not well established. This presentation will highlight their latest efforts to finding these methods, and more.
In addition to completing various degrees at The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and The University of Warwick, as well as conducting research at Yale University and Eindhoven University of Technology, Andy was recognized through the Royal Society of Chemistry Norman Heatley Award in 2016.
