The QBI & Gladstone Institute Infectious Disease and Human Health Seminar Series presents Dr. Noam Stern-Ginossar, an associate professor in the department of Molecular Genetics at the Weizmann Institute. Noam received her Ph.D. in 2009 from the Hebrew University, where she studied viral miRNAs. Her postdoctoral research was with Dr. Jonathan Weissman at UCSF, and focused on application of ribosome profiling to virally infected cells. She started her independent lab at Weizmann in 2014. Since its establishment in 2014 her lab has harnessed the power of deep sequencing technologies together with a rich arsenal of molecular tools to tackle unexplored aspects of gene regulation during infection, and to perform unbiased and detailed analyses of facets of herpesvirus, biology that has been difficult to address before.
