QBI presents Luc Brunsveld, a Full Professor of Chemical Biology at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. He is a chemical biologist focusing on the understanding and modulation of protein-protein interactions (PPIs), particularly Nuclear Receptors and 14-3-3 proteins. His group is embedded in the interdepartmental Institute of Complex Molecular Systems (ICMS) at Eindhoven University of Technology. Luc was trained as organic and polymer chemist with Bert Meijer, did postdoctoral work on lipoproteins at the MPI Dortmund with Herbert Waldmann, was group leader Nuclear Receptors at Organon, and started his independent academic career at the Chemical Genomics Centre of the Max Planck Society in 2005. In 2009, he moved to Eindhoven. Relevant awards include ERC Starting, Advanced and Proof of Concept grants, Vici grant, NVBMB Award, Gold Medal of KNCV. Luc is co-founder of the 14-3-3 PPI drug discovery company Ambagon Therapeutics and elected member of the KNAW (Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences).
