About UCSFY.E.S Initiative
Funded by the State of California under Gavin Newsom, the QBI Y.E.S (Youth. Excellence. Science) initiative is a program for students from underprivileged backgrounds to learn more about discovery research and have career opportunities in STEM. Through a six-week paid internship, students will develop the skills needed to pursue a career in the life sciences by working with a mentor in a QBI lab at UCSF. The interns are invited to speak at the annual symposium to present their work at the end of the program (August 2025).
- Mentored internship at a QBI laboratory
- Selected participants are paid $22/hour
- The length of this fellowship is 6-8 weeks over the summer. There will be two Sessions (A&B). Session A start date is June 16th.
Session B start date it July 7th.
