QBI UCSF, Institut Pasteur, and Gladstone Institutes present the "Infectious Insights Webinar Series" to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration in infectious disease research. The series will unite experts from various institutions to tackle emerging challenges, share breakthroughs, and explore innovative solutions, reinforcing the partnership’s commitment to advancing global health. The series will launch on February 5, 2025 at 9:00 AM PST (6:00 PM CET) with a focus on Mpox.
Webinar Theme: The Mpox Outbreak
Mpox, a zoonotic disease caused by the monkeypox virus, has emerged as a global health challenge due to rising cases in non-endemic regions. Characterized by fever, lymphadenopathy, and a distinct rash, the disease highlights the need for enhanced surveillance and public health measures. Combatting Mpox requires global collaboration on vaccine development, antiviral treatments, and public education to curb transmission.
The webinar will delve into the latest research on Mpox, including antiviral resistance, host-pathogen dynamics, and zoonotic spillover's role in outbreaks. This session aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborative strategies to address this pressing public health issue.
The webinar is free and open to all, with no registration required.
