QBI presents a seminar with Justin English, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Dr. English earned his PhD in Pharmacology at UNC Chapel Hill where he also conducted his postdoctoral research. He is an NIH DP2 New Innovator and Eli Lilly LRAP Awardee. His lab focuses on engineering and inventing new tools to control, measure, and detect the inputs, cellular processing, and outputs of pharmacological systems and cellular signaling.

Talk Title: Novel Systems for Mapping Cellular Pharmacology

His talk will focus on new methods and approaches developed in his lab as well as future directions and new, upcoming research works not yet published from his group. These will include methods for the detection of ligand-protein complex engagement in vivo, massively parallel reporter assays for the engineering of synthetic reporters for cellular signaling events, new methods for the directed evolution of peptide ligands, and more!
