Infectious Insights Webinar Series – Chromatin: Epigenetics of Infection
Jan 19, 2026
9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Speakers

Melanie Ott,Melanie Hamon, Vijay Ramani, Jessica Bryant

The Infectious Insights Webinar Series is a collaboration between QBI UCSF, Institut Pasteur, and the Gladstone Institutes and aims to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration in infectious disease research, bringing together experts from across institutions to address emerging challenges, share recent breakthroughs, and explore innovative approaches that advance global health.

Chromatin: Epigenetics of Infection

Chromatin dynamics play a central role in regulating gene expression during infection, shaping how host cells respond to pathogens and how pathogens, in turn, manipulate host regulatory programs. Epigenetic mechanisms are increasingly recognized as key determinants of immune responses, pathogen persistence, and disease outcome.

This webinar will explore recent advances in our understanding of chromatin and epigenetic regulation in the context of infection. The session aims to foster interdisciplinary discussion and collaborative approaches to uncover how epigenetic regulation at the host–pathogen interface can be leveraged to better prevent and treat infectious diseases.

The webinar is free and open to all, with no registration required.
