"Stronger There, Safer Here" : A USAID photo exhibition

As Zika remains a continuous threat, the Quantitative Biosciences Institute (QBI) and the Institute of Global Health at UCSF teamed up with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to spread the word on the importance of moderating its health hazards.

An opening reception was held for a USAID photographic exhibition “Stronger There, Safer Here,” on June 12 in Mission Hall on the UC San Francisco Mission Bay campus.

Featuring a combination of photographs, audio recordings (by Carry the One Radio) and video, the exhibition captures USAID’s response to the 2016 Zika outbreak in Latin America and the Caribbean, really highlighting the core of human empathy, concern and hope.

It integrates a number of personal narratives to elevate the reality of the virus’ impacts, as well as the power in equipping communities to protect themselves.

The display will remain free and open to the public through July 31, 2019.
